hobDrive — New Features and Improvements in 2025–2026

Over the past year, hobDrive has gained new ways to keep an eye on your car, analyze your driving history in the cloud, plan maintenance, customize the dashboard, and get help when something goes wrong. Here is a closer look at the biggest additions.

Widgets and maintenance

  • Fully customizable Android widgets. Widgets use the same rendering as the app itself, so familiar hobDrive panels can now live directly on the Android home screen.
  • Service intervals and reminders. A new screen keeps scheduled maintenance events in one place and warns you when the next one is approaching.

Cloud analytics: your complete driving history

Cloud analytics is one of the biggest new hobDrive features. The app can upload trip statistics, routes, and recorded vehicle data to the cloud, where they are processed into detailed visual reports. This is much more than a backup: it is a new way to study individual trips, compare results, and see long-term driving trends.

  • Trip statistics in the cloud. Distance, travel time, speed, fuel consumption, cost, and other collected values are brought together in one history. You can return to an earlier trip without searching through data on the device.
  • Routes on the map. When location logging is enabled, each trip can be viewed together with its GPS track. The map makes it easy to connect changes in speed, consumption, and other readings with a particular part of the route.
  • Extended efficiency analysis. Cloud reports help show how efficiently each trip was completed and where time or fuel was lost. Results can be studied for a single trip or over longer periods.
  • Trip and period comparisons. Compare repeated or similar trips and see the difference in time, distance, fuel used, fuel cost, and efficiency. Graphs make changes between trips, days, and months easier to spot.
  • Sensor recording and graphs. hobDrive can record readings from selected OBD and GPS sensors and display how they changed throughout a trip. Logging frequency can be configured, and intermittent recording can be used for focused diagnostics without collecting an unnecessary amount of data.
  • A clearer view of your car over time. Instead of isolated numbers at the end of a drive, cloud analytics builds a history that can reveal recurring patterns, gradual changes, and trips that deserve closer attention.

An AI assistant inside hobDrive

The AI assistant is now available directly in the app and can help in several ways:

  • Ask questions about vehicle symptoms and other car-related problems without leaving hobDrive.
  • Use Report a Problem to open the assistant and automatically attach the logs needed to investigate an app issue.
  • Send a specific diagnostic trouble code from the Error Codes screen to get an explanation and suggested next steps for diagnosis and repair.

More ways to personalize the dashboard

  • Dash Panels provide ready-made dashboards and skins available online. The selection can be extended with additional DashKits.
  • Day and night modes can switch on a schedule, follow sunrise and sunset, or synchronize with the Android system theme.
  • OpenGL rendering is now enabled by default on all platforms for a faster interface. Text outlines can be customized for better readability on different backgrounds.
  • A gear shift assistant is available on the main screen.

Everyday driving improvements

  • Bluetooth LE (BT4) OBD adapter discovery and connection have been improved.
  • Existing refueling records can now be edited.
  • Fuel cost settings support more currencies, a custom currency symbol, and an “other” option.
  • A separate odometer correction factor makes it possible to align calculated mileage without changing the speed correction.
  • Early Android Auto support and iOS CarPlay screen mirroring have been added.

More vehicles and better localization

New and updated ECU profiles expand support for Renault, Opel, Toyota, SsangYong, Tiggo, and other vehicles. Translations have also been reviewed and completed across all supported languages.

Important fixes

  • More reliable Bluetooth connections, including BT4 on iOS, and fewer crashes when switching screens.
  • Compatibility fixes for screen boundaries and settings on Android 15 and 16.
  • More reliable online and offline license checks after the Google Play licensing update.
  • Fixed black screens on some head units, missing GPS sensors, and missing refueling/event records in statistics.
  • Statistics editing and deletion are now stable; dual-fuel calculations and driving-efficiency calculations have also been corrected.
  • Fixed the DashKit skin selector, the All Sensors screen, error reset controls, and several overlapping indicators.
  • iOS once again offers Wi-Fi adapter selection, and its startup screen has been fixed.
